Hearn Academy is currently accepting applications for the 2024-25 school year on a first-come, first-served basis, as we are past our Open Enrollment period. If you are interested in enrollment for the current year, please contact us.

By statute, charter schools are public schools and therefore must enroll all eligible students who submit timely applications. Students must be enrolled in an equitable manner, such as through a lottery. To meet this requirement, Hearn Academy holds an “Open Enrollment” period from November through January for students who wish to join us in the next fall (ex: Nov 23 – Jan 24 for the Fall of 24-25 school year).

Application and Enrollment Process

There is no cost to submit an application or to attend our school. Hearn is a tuition free for K - 8th Grade. There is an enrichment fee for our full-day Kindergarten Program.

1. Submit an application digitally through PowerSchool
2. After enrollment is confirmed, an email will be sent from PowerSchool to request the following documents:
- Proof Of Residency
- Birth Certificate- State Certified
- Immunization record
- Any necessary court documents

Re-Enrollment Information

Re-Enrollment for the 2024 - 2025 school year will take place in January. Families will receive a link via email. Please contact Betty if you have any questions at HearnRegistrar@ballcharterschools.org

After enrollment lottery, enrollment will continue on a first-come first-serve basis.

No. Charter schools are publicly funded institutions similar to district schools. Hearn Academy does charge a tuition for the Kindergarten program, however, 1st - 8th grade are tuition-free.

Hearn Academy offers an additional program for  4-year-olds, called Pre-K, that is tuition-based. Please contact our childcare director for more information. 

Yes. Please refer to the Family Handbook for color and style information.

No. Most of our students are dropped off and picked up from school. Others walk or bike to school.

Yes. All of our classroom teachers are certified with a teaching certificate from the Arizona Department of Education.

No. We accept students from across the greater Phoenix metropolitan area.

Yes. All students have the right to a free and appropriate public education (FAPE). We offer special education services as well as accommodations for students with disabilities. Please contact our Director of Student Services for more information.

Yes. Our before school program is from 6:00 a.m. to school start, and our after school program is from school end to 6:00 p.m. Our before school and after school programs are licensed through the Arizona Department of Health Services.

Yes. We love seeing our parents on campus! Please check with the office for volunteer opportunities.

Yes. Our schools follow a traditional calendar with one-week fall and spring breaks, a two-week winter break, and 10 weeks in the summer time.
